Building Language Education Competence in the AI Era: An Interuniversity Exchange Report
On June 27, 2025, the Dean of the College of International Culture, Education, and Foreign Affairs (CICEFA), accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer of the Bilingual Education Office, visited the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature at Feng Chia University. They were warmly welcomed by Department Chair Dr. Di-Feng Chueh. This visit served as a platform for both institutions to exchange insights on the evolving landscape of language education in the age of artificial intelligence (AI), with discussions covering curriculum development, faculty training, student recruitment strategies, and international collaboration.
During the meeting, Feng Chia University shared key practices from its curriculum reform, including efforts to enhance students’ native language proficiency to improve translation quality. The department promotes a balanced emphasis on both Chinese and foreign language competencies, while incorporating interdisciplinary modules such as “AI and Digital Humanities.” Highlights also included their structured EMI (English-Medium Instruction) modules, innovative AI-integrated pedagogy, and robust international mobility programs, demonstrating a clear commitment to future-ready education.
This exchange not only fostered professional dialogue and mutual understanding but also opened the door to future collaboration in bilingual education, digital innovation, and international academic partnerships. Both institutions expressed strong interest in continued interaction, aiming to cultivate globally competent professionals equipped with language expertise and AI literacy.

國際文教暨涉外事務學院於2025年6月27日(星期五)前往逢甲大學進行交流參訪,由院長偕同雙語辦公室執行長共同出席,專程拜訪逢甲大學外國語文學系,並由系主任闕帝丰親自接待。此次交流聚焦於語言教育與AI應用的結合,雙方就課程設計、招生策略及國際合作等議題深入交流。
逢甲外文系分享其近年課程改革重點,強調中文與外語能力並重的重要性,並推動AI與數位人文跨域課程模組,展現出應對教育轉型的前瞻視野。此外,該系也介紹全英授課(EMI)模組整合、國際移地教學計畫與雙聯學位推動成果,為本院帶來許多啟發與思考。
本次參訪不僅促進兩校之間的專業交流,更為未來在雙語教育與國際合作方面奠定良好基礎。雙方皆表示將持續保持聯繫,探索更多合作可能。
