BESTEP Briefing

The College held a BESTEP (培力英檢) briefing on March 6th in Z507. The event extended a special invitation to the class representatives and vice representatives of the first-year students, aiming to provide practical information and guidance for all attendees.

During the meeting, the Dean of the International College and the Bilingual Program Assistant provided a detailed overview of the BESTEP schedule and discussed the associated rewards. They encouraged active participation, emphasizing the importance of enhancing English language skills.

A specific reminder was given to first-year students in the College, highlighting that all first-year students would collectively take part in the BESTEP listening and reading on May 25th. Some students from the first to third years would also participate in the speaking and writing tests on April 13th. Participants in these tests are eligible to receive a reward of NT 200 dollars. Additionally, students achieving a B2 proficiency level in speaking, writing, and integrated listening and reading are entitled to extra rewards. To aid students in preparing for the tests, the college organized writing and speaking classes, attracting the participation of 98 and 122 students, respectively.

The meeting underscored that first-year students are required to take the BESTEP this year, while CSEPT remains optional. The college will facilitate the registration process for first-year students, whereas individuals must register themselves for CSEPT at the English Language Center.

In conclusion, class representatives and vice representatives are urged to convey the relevant information during class meetings, ensuring that more students can benefit fully from this event. The organizers express gratitude for the enthusiastic participation and support received from all involved.
