【活動】探索我們的城鎮：外語導覽社群活動開始啦 Exploring Our Town: Let's Join Foreign Language Guided Tour Community Activities

I-Chen Lin (林一成), Mei-fei Lu (盧美妃) from Department of English and Eileen Lin (林虹秀) from Department of Translation and Interpreting are driving forward "Our Town", a university social responsibility project, and currently, the initiative is in full swing. A crucial component of this project is the Foreign Language Guided Tour Community, aimed at deepening tour guide skills through indoor classes and on-site exploration. The shared content covers important landmarks in Kaohsiung, such as ancient houses, Military Dependents' villages, and the vibrant Hamasen district.

The inaugural meeting took place at Wenzao, January 30, 2024 where a Wenzaorian alumnus, Ken Huang (黃榮進), shared valuable insights on how to become an outstanding tour guide. Humorously, he concluded with the phrase, "Spending every penny is the time for a traveler should go back home." Another speaker, Jay Her (何昇階), shared his experiences about Alishan, introducing celestial phenomena like the Milky Way and green flashes, creating an immersive experience for the audience.

Luis (龔書永), the project manager, renowned for his fluent English, once again showcased his rich knowledge in guiding, introducing various terms related to ancient houses. He emphasized that excellent tour guides should present information in an easily understandable way and seamlessly incorporate the living environment into their guided explanations.

The community warmly welcomes everyone to join and gain a deeper understanding of our town and our community.
