A Glimpse into Training of High-Tech Industry Talent

In recent years, Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages has strengthened its focus on education in the high-tech industry through close collaboration with various technology companies. Through partnerships with industry experts, therefore, the College (CICEFA) has introduced a micro-credit course titled High-Tech Industry Talent Training for several semesters.

This micro-course for the fall semester in 2023 consists of six sessions, with the inaugural class held on November 22 and the final session on December 16th. On December 6, the HR manager of UMC (United Microelectronics Corporation) mentioned that while many assume a background or degree in a related field is necessary for working in large tech companies, there are diverse roles available beyond professional engineering positions. This flexibility is a significant advantage for Wenzaorians. Additionally, UMC has branches located in Japan and Singapore, with plans to provide overseas internship opportunities for Wenzaorian students to gain real-world work experience. The HR manager at UMC believes that students from Wenzao have great potential to excel in their overseas subsidiaries.

The course fosters an immersive learning experience through interactive engagement between instructors and students. Wenzaorian students actively participate in discussions, showcasing their enthusiasm for delving deep into the high-tech industry.

近年來，文藻外語大學透過與各科技公司的密切合作，加強了對高科技產業教育的重視。因此，學院（CICEFA）透過與產業專家的合作關係，連續數個學期推出名為高科技產業人才訓練的微課程。

本微課程為 2023 年秋季學期，共分六堂，首堂於 11 月 22 日舉行，最後一堂於 12 月 16 日舉行。12 月 6 日，UMC（聯華電子股份有限公司）的人力資源經理提到，雖然許多人認為在大型科技公司工作必須要有相關領域的背景或學位，但除了專業工程職位之外，還有多樣化的角色可供選擇。這種彈性對溫莎人而言是一大優勢。此外，聯電在日本和新加坡設有分公司，並計劃提供海外實習機會，讓文藻學生獲得實際工作經驗。聯電的人事經理認為，文藻學生在海外分公司有很大的發展潛力。課程透過導師與學生的互動參與，培養身歷其境的學習體驗。文藻學生積極參與討論，展現他們深入高科技產業的熱情。
