A Glimpse into Training of High-Tech Industry Talent

 

In recent years, Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages has strengthened its focus on education in the high-tech industry through close collaboration with various technology companies. Through partnerships with industry experts, therefore, the College (CICEFA) has introduced a micro-credit course titled High-Tech Industry Talent Training for several semesters.

 

This micro-course for the fall semester in 2023 consists of six sessions, with the inaugural class held on November 22 and the final session on December 16th. On December 6, the HR manager of UMC (United Microelectronics Corporation) mentioned that while many assume a background or degree in a related field is necessary for working in large tech companies, there are diverse roles available beyond professional engineering positions. This flexibility is a significant advantage for Wenzaorians. Additionally, UMC has branches located in Japan and Singapore, with plans to provide overseas internship opportunities for Wenzaorian students to gain real-world work experience. The HR manager at UMC believes that students from Wenzao have great potential to excel in their overseas subsidiaries.

 

The course fosters an immersive learning experience through interactive engagement between instructors and students. Wenzaorian students actively participate in discussions, showcasing their enthusiasm for delving deep into the high-tech industry.

 

The course will be offered again next semester. Please pay close attention and seize the chance to step into high-tech industry.

 

On December 6th, the HR manager of UMC visited Wenzao to share valuable experiences with the faculty and students and took a group photo.

 

On November 10th, students visited National Sun Yat-Sen University to experience the application of wafer technology.

 

During the semester, the students actively participated in the courses.
