On October 5, the College held the “Teaching Innovation Course Outcome Sharing Session for the Second Semester of Academic Year 114.” Prof. Shihwen Liao and Prof. Helen Yen were invited to share their teaching practices and course outcomes, promoting professional exchange on innovative course design across different disciplines.
Prof. Liao shared her experience of integrating AI into computer-assisted translation courses. Students applied AI tools together with terminology management, corpus-based verification, and post-editing practices, developing stronger professional judgment and quality assurance skills through a structured learning process.
Prof. Yen introduced the use of reflective writing, intercultural incidents, local cultural visits, and interviews to help students understand cultural differences through personal experience. The course encouraged students to move beyond assumptions and instead ask questions, verify information, and understand different cultural perspectives, thereby strengthening their intercultural sensitivity.
Although the two courses differed in discipline and in the extent of AI integration, both emphasized the importance of verification and the learning process. Through this sharing session, CICEFA continues to promote faculty exchange and provide practical insights for course design, teaching innovation, and student assessment.
