【人物】以熱忱與專業，堆疊服務的力量:英文科親善大使訪談 Growing Through Service: Dedication and Professionalism in Action

Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages was selected for the first time in 2025 as a protocol reception school for the 114th National Day Celebration of the Republic of China. A total of ten student diplomats from the University were chosen to assist with reception duties in the North Zone II area in front of the Presidential Office. This also marks the first time a university from Kaohsiung has been appointed to undertake reception services for the National Day Ceremony.  Among the selected students, Verna Fang from the Five-Year Junior College Program in English at the College of International Culture, Education, and Foreign Affairs, was honored to  represent the University at this national-level event.

  
Verna joined the Student Diplomatic Ambassador Team in the second semester of her third year. The preparation for the National Day reception began in June, followed by intensive training throughout the summer. The training included official protocol courses, posture and etiquette practice during regular club sessions, various situational simulations, and the completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. On the day of the event, she remained at her post in the intense summer heat. While some team members required medical assistance due to heat-related discomfort, she continued to carry out her duties with composure and resilience, gaining a profound understanding of the importance of teamwork and on-site adaptability.

 
Reflecting on this experience, Verna shared that serving as a diplomatic ambassador not only strengthened her ability to respond effectively in real-life situations but also deepened her understanding of service, etiquette, and responsibility. Looking ahead, she hopes to continue serving as a diplomatic ambassador after advancing to higher levels of study and to carry forward her passion for service. With her professionalism, grace, and clear sense of purpose, Verna has brought new energy to the Ambassador Team. The College of International Affairs sincerely wishes her every success as she continues to grow and pursue her aspirations. 

文藻外語大學於114年首度獲選為中華民國第114年國慶大會禮賓接待學校，本次本校共有10名親善大使團學生北上協助總統府前北二區的接待工作，亦創下高雄市大專校院首度入選國慶大會禮賓接待的重要里程碑。其中，來自國際學院五專部英文科的方詩涵同學（Verna）榮獲遴選，代表學校參與此一國家級盛典。 

方同學於專三下學期加入親善大使團，國慶禮賓接待的籌備自六月啟動，暑期展開密集訓練，內容涵蓋國慶禮儀課程、社團儀態與應對訓練、多項情境模擬演練，並完成 BLS 基本救命術證照之取得。正式執勤當日，她於高溫酷暑下堅守崗位，期間亦見多名團員因不適需至醫護站休息，然而她仍穩定完成各項接待任務，深刻體會團隊合作與臨場應變的重要性。 

回顧這段歷程，方同學表示親善大使的經驗不僅提升了她的臨場反應與溝通應對能力，也讓她對服務精神、禮儀素養與責任感有了更深一層的認識。未來她亦期盼在升學後持續投入親善大使行列，延續服務熱忱，國際學院全體師生也誠摯祝福她於未來的學習與服務旅程中持續精進、展翅高飛 。
