In November, Taiwan’s national baseball team made history by winning the WBSC Premier12 championship for the first time. This victory is not only a testament to the team’s skill, determination, and teamwork but also a reflection of Taiwan’s deep baseball roots.

Baseball in Taiwan began during the Japanese colonial period (1895–1945) and became a popular sport across the island. One of the earliest and most iconic teams was the Chiayi (Kano) Baseball Team, which gained international fame in 1931 by competing in Japan’s prestigious Koshien tournament.
